Life Education is a charitable trust that delivers a health programme to children in preschool, primary and intermediate schools. Facilitators go into schools by invitation, not by right and see over 200,000 children each year. There are 19 learning modules that slot into the school curriculum.
Life Education is a preventative approach to disease and substance/alcohol abuse. It is a totally positive programme, incorporating the philosophy – that each child is special and unique, that the human body is magnificent and that we need to respect one another – into all of the learning modules.
Rather than frighten children with various forms of scare tactics, Life Education focuses on creating a sensitivity to values and an appreciation of human life. Children are taught about their bodies, what they need in order to

live a healthy, happy life, and that putting substances into their bodies can upset the delicate equilibrium that we operate on.
This is done by taking children on an adventure in the mobile classrooms. Their imaginations are captured and learning is made fun by using a language that children these days love – technology. The educators are registered teachers and together with Harold the Giraffe, the loveable mascot, use teaching techniques to recognise the different learning styles of children, and to help with retention of knowledge.
Each child is given a workbook by their teacher to complete at home, and Life Education, together with schools and parents, aims to instill healthy values in children and a thirst for life, so they reach their fullest potential.
