The Rotary Club of Howick Plane Table featuring a round base of bluestone basalt with a bronze plate on the top, was handed over to the Howick community at a ceremony on Sat. 12 November, 2011. It is set on the seaward side of Stockade Hill, Howick, and provides directional information to key features in the immediate area and also for all the major cities and capitals of the Pacific and world. While it doesn’t supply distances, directions have been calculated using GPS technology. The plane table is a jubilee commemoration gift by Howick Rotary to the community. Unveiling ceremony
