The Rotary Club of Howick Inc.
During the Rotary 2005/6 year Howick Rotary Club Inc and the Nadi Rotary Club, in Fiji, undertook to replace an old nine-seat van that was on its very last legs and used to carry students at the Sigatoka School for Special Education.
The replacement bus was identified; a 1993 air conditioned 22-seat Nissan, which was based in Auckland. The purchase price was in the order of $20,000.00, and an additional amount would be required to cover the freight costs to Fiji.
With the help of other Clubs in District 9920, the funds were raised and the bus was sent to Fiji in March 2007.
