Jeannette and I had a few days break enjoying Northland and the sights on the way. It reminded us of how magnificent some of the beaches are. We also visited the Sculptorium (who knew there was such a thing?) at Point wells.
Well worth the time!
A big thanks to Gavin for stepping in for me last week and for sergeant Glen while he is away.
Speaking of being away it seems to be the season for travel with Colin and Meryl Monk together with Ian and Robyne Fox currently visiting British Columbia, Ron Mouncey walking around Montenegro, Glen and Gaynor Donaldson in Australia, Mike and Pat Abercrombie in Samoa. Is anyone else feeling left out?
We have an excellent speaker this coming Tuesday. Richard Waugh is talking to us about the history of aviation and its effect on Auckland. This is one to invite prospective members to come along to experience our club.
Bookarama is underway with sorting at the RSA on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Please help out where you can. We have some wonderful members who are there every week and they need our help. This Saturday Jeannette and I plus Madeleine East and Alison Kearney will be handing our Bookarama bags and leaflets to the public at Howick market from 9am. Feel free to come and join us. It is an opportunity for us to engage with our community and talk to them about the role of Rotary in their local community.
Also in this Keyway is a notice about the presentation by the CEO of Predator fee 2050 on MONDAY 24th September. This is in lieu of our normal Tuesday meeting that week. I would really like your support at this specially arranged event by all our local clubs. This is our opportunity to be part of an outstanding legacy to leave to our grandchildren and their children. Please invite all who may be interested.
We celebrate Charter Night on 18th. Our theme is “Mad Hatters” so get in the mood. You can be mad, a hatter or both or even Alice. Lets have fun.
