It was a good turnout for our Club Assembly, and in such a great environment.
The Pakuranga Tennis Club worked so well for us, and again I must thank John and Jenny Richardson for all their hard work in making it such a successful venue. Who knew there were hidden barman skills in both John Richardson and Barry Nicholls!! Special thanks to Jenny who was such a great hostess. We are looking forward to our next meeting which is next week 8th February and Butter Chicken with Rice is on the menu. Please remember to let John Richardson know by Friday if you are NOT coming to the meeting.
Mike Abercrombie did a good job standing in for Bill Charkow as sergeant and kept things moving along and on track for our first meeting in our new venue.
Directors had the opportunity to update members on their committee activities over the last 6 months and while Covid certainly had an impact it was heartening to hear just how much was actually achieved and we are looking forward now to the next 6 months when, hopefully Covid will slowly move on and let us get on with what we are all keen to do.
Unfortunately we have had to again cancel Bookarama ,but the club members were unanimous in their support of the project continuing, although it is recognised that it may well need to be in a different format to reflect the membership of our club now.
A reminder from the Comms committee that when committees are involved in community, or club activities please let them know so it can be put out there and keep our profile present in the wider community. The number of followers we now have on face book is quite significant as is the interest in our website. Let’s keep building on that.
Remember we meet again next week 8th February at the Pakuranga Tennis Club.
Kia tupato ,kia noho haumaru Take care, stay safe.
