Another busy week for our Rotary Club starting with the district farewell to our exchange students. Meryl and Colin Monk, David Fels and Anita accompanied me on behalf of our club. There were lots of tears and tissues in play.
Marie has been a great ambassador for her town and her country. She loves school here. When she returns she will be back to school from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily with a 1 hour commute each way. Not much time for anything else! We will miss you Marie.
Thank you to Jim Duckworth and Allan Riley for making the Mangemangeroa tree planting such a success on Saturday and thanks to all them members for their efforts. 1,000 trees planted well done.
Our guests for the evening were Grace Cussell who is off to RYLA shortly and Ian Wallis who visited at the invitation of David Teape.
Shefali Mehta spoke to us about the great work of Interplast and I was pleased to present her with a cheque on behalf of Howick Rotary.
Next week Marie is speaking to us about her time in New Zealand. This will be a great time to bring family and friends just remember to contact David Owens to book them in so he can make sure we can feed them.
Thought for the day:
To follow the path – look to the master
Follow the master – walk with the master
See through the master – become the master
I wish you all a great week.
Gavin.
