What a nice way to start 2025! An informal gathering of members and partners in the sunshine at the Howick Club.
18 of us got together in the garden of the Howick Club, shared our holiday stories and wondered what the new year is going to bring over drinks and in some cases bar snacks. As the dining room was full a few of us then shared a Japanese meal at Miyuki. It was a really relaxed way to start the year.
Planning for the Howick Fun Walk & Run project is well underway with the date for the event being set as Sunday the 16th March. On-line registrations for participants will open on the 8th February. Let us hope the weather is kind for the day.
A replacement food delivery van for the local Salvation Army team will be delivered soon. Howick Rotary will be helping Half Moon Bay Rotary complete this project with a donation of $5000.
Our first dinner meeting is on the 28th January and arrangements have been made for Lexie Palmer- Gapper General Manager of the Howick Historical Village to give us an update on what is happening at the Village. As some may be aware the club will be providing a grant of $5000 to assist in the construction of a permanent roof in the staff room at the Village. Hopefully, Lexie"s visit will enhance the longstanding relationship between the club and the Village.
The second half of the Rotary year is now underway. See you on the 28th.
Take Care and Stay Well.
