 President's Message

A cold night saw attendance down a bit but it was great to see he hardy souls attending. It was also great to welcome Lynne Green up from the South Island.

Members were advised that we have received a letter of thanks from All Saints Church for the blankets donated and another thank you goes to all of those in the club who contributed.

We trialed the built-in sound system at the Howick Club and initial consensus was that it was far more effective and easier to hear. A big thanks to Sheenagh for finding out about the system.

Our speakers Simon Walton and Julie Shacklady from Milford Asset Management gave an informative presentation. Julie focused on the services that Milford offer and Simon gave us market insights and possible trends for the future. The influence of decision making in the US Government is having some dramatic effects on the markets, but lately this seems to be settling down.

Questions from the floor were inciteful and answered competently by Simon and Julie. Naturally everything was discussed with the proviso that they were not there to give financial advice and that returns were estimates based on historical data and not guaranteed.

Sergeant Mike then took over and the raffles were drawn with the following winners

Have a Go
  • 1st Malcom Pascoe
  • 2nd Glen Donaldson
Food Vouchers
  • Glen Donaldson
  • Ian Fox
The number of fines were a bit low with members obviously being too well behaved. I’m sure this wont last long.

Thank you all for attending and I look forward to our next meeting with Dr Mels Barton coming to speak to us about Kauri Dieback on 12/8/25.

Mike Stanghan
President.
